Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani’s youngest son, Anant Ambani, is set to marry his fiancée, Radhika Merchant, on July 12, 2024. As part of the grand wedding festivities, the Ambanis are hosting a sangeet on July 5, 2024, featuring performances by several renowned international singers, including Justin Bieber. On July 4, 2024, Bieber landed in Mumbai ahead of the sangeet. An international media portal revealed that the 30-year-old singer is being paid a staggering sum of USD 10 million, equivalent to approximately Rs. 83.5 crores, for his performance.
The excitement for the event has been building, especially following performances by international artists like Rihanna, Katy Perry, Pitbull, and the Backstreet Boys at Anant and Radhika’s pre-wedding ceremonies. Adding to the anticipation, popular singers Adele, Lana Del Rey, and Drake are also expected to perform during the wedding festivities from July 12-14, 2024. According to reports by India Today, Drake will be paid Rs. 51 crores for his performance, while Adele and Lana Del Rey will each receive Rs. 17 crores.
In the lead-up to the wedding, the Ambanis have already hosted a samuh vivah (mass wedding) for 50 underprivileged couples from Maharashtra’s Palghar region on July 2, 2024. The Ambani family generously provided the newlyweds with essential items to start their marital life. Mukesh and Nita Ambani personally oversaw the ceremony, which was attended by their children, Akash and Isha, along with their respective spouses.
On July 3, 2024, the Ambanis hosted a Mameru ceremony, a Gujarati tradition where the bride’s maternal uncles (mamas) visit with sweets and gifts. The entire Antilia residence was beautifully decorated with flowers and light chains, and the Ambani family was seen in high spirits. The ceremony offered glimpses of the soon-to-be-married couple, Anant and Radhika, who appeared radiant and excited.
